This bike was one of the last to be manufactured before the model name change to R60/2. It was purchased via Shannons Vehicle Auction and came with detailed documentation from all previous owners. One of previous owners who ran a stainless steel manufacturing business, remodelled the bike, replacing many of the traditional nuts and bolts with a custom set. While Martin’s initial intention was to just replace these nuts and bolts to retain the original look, he eventually did a complete restoration, dismantling the engine, gearbox and final drive. It was also painted and pin striped by hand.
Once complete, the bike was sold to Brisbane buyer David, who owned a few modern bikes but this was his first vintage motorcycle. As he is local, David frequently returns to the Werkshop for check-ups and service.
